Dump Truck Card for Aidan

For my card to send to Aidan I used Everyday Paper Dolls for the road and dump truck (cut three times to get the different colors), a transparency for the window, large gray brads for the hubcaps, Create a Critter for the sun, and Pooh and Friends for the clouds.  I used a stamp from Inkadinkado's Round Frames and Sentiments set.

Cards for Aidan

I saw this posted on several blogs and really wanted to send the little guy a get well card!  I don't know him or the family but was moved by the story.  Here's the information about Aidan, cut and pasted from Scrappin KY Momma' s blog:

Aidan is a sweet lil 2 year old who was recently diagnosed with T Cell Leukemia. On Wednesday, he had a port installed in his chest, spinal tap, bone marrow, and chemo in his spine. He did GREAT! This lil guy is such a trooper.  His parents have accepted that their BABY has Leukemia.. NOT the easiest thing to accept, but their faith in God and their support system have kept them going. T-Cell Leukemia has a high cure rate although chemo will be continued for quite a while. Lil Aidan LOVES mail, like any 2 year old does. So....

I need your help. Let's get our crafting supplies out and send this lil guy some LOVE!!!  Pass this on to all your crafty friends. I think we can all take a couple minutes and make something special for him that will bring LOTS of smiles and he can look at over and over.

Please mail your cards to:     AIDAN

Hubby's 30th Birthday Card

My hubby turns 30 this year!  I've been struggling with a card design.  I even made a card a few weeks ago in the shape of a present (from the Wild Card cartridge), but I hated it.  Here's my second attempt.  I kept it simple.  The top note is from Storybook and the sentiment is from Sweet Treats.  I cut the 30 out a while ago, so I can't remember the cartridge.  (It may just be George.)  I also used my Cuttlebug 5x7 Polka Dots embossing folder and Co'rdination cardstock which I sanded to make the dots pop.  I used ribbon from my stash and pop dots to raise the top note.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hubby and I don't make a big deal about Valentine's Day, usually just going out to dinner.  This year I met him for dinner, but not before stopping at home to change and finding my surprise.  He not only got me some beautiful tulips but he made me a card!  He told me all about it later.... I think he may have a new respect for my hobby!  The card took him three tries, once because he tried to use my Scotch Quick Dry glue.  The top came off and he dumped glue all over it!

I think his card is adorable!  He worked so hard on it!  I love my hubby!  :)

Snow Days!

I've been lucky to have had 2 days off from teaching this week!  I finished a scrapbook layout for my wedding album (that's been sitting out and waiting for journaling and some detail).  I also made a card for my hubby's birthday using the Wild Card cartridge and my Gypsy, but I don't like how it turned out!  (I made the present shaped card.)  Luckily his birthday isn't until next month!
